Festival of Preaching NW 2014 really will be "bigger" and "better" than ever!
Festival of Preaching NW 2014 is scheduled for Monday, April 28 - Thursday, May 1, 2014. That means that our 2014 version of the Festival is a day longer than in the past. And this year we welcome twelve outstanding preachers/ speakers, twice as many as in the past.
Our theme for 2014 will be "Preaching in a Post-Modern World." We welcome as our featured speakers: Debbie Blue from the House of Mercy, Anna Carter Florence of Columbia Seminary, Scott Kisker from United Theological Seminary, independent theologian Tony Jones, young Disciples of Christ leader Jose Morales, Heidi Neumark, Lutheran pastor and author; Rodger Nishioka from Columbia Seminary, Fleming Rutledge, Episcopal teacher and eminent author; Melissa Skelton Bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster in The Anglican Church of Canada, Will Willimon of Duke, and Jim Forbes, pastor emeritus of The Riverside Church.

From the Director
Festival of Preaching NW 2014 is going to be fantastic. I encourage you to register early, as we do have a limit to the number we can accept. Again this year, we offer Pre-Festival workshops -- four choices on Monday morning or afternoon (April 28). In the morning, from 9 to noon, you can work in a small group with either Will Willimon or Anna Carter Florence on the craft of preaching. In the afternoon join either Rodger Nishioka or Melissa Skelton as they explore the "post-modern" landscape and its implications for the church, from 12:30 to 3:30. These workshops require separate registration and an additional registration fee. If last time is any indication these workshops will also fill up, so register early.
